Training Herbalists Since 1989

We offer supervised clinical experience in primary care medicine at a rural medical clinic in Nicaragua. The clinic is integrated into the Nicaraguan health care system, and supervised by naturopathic physicians, with herbal supervising faculty on each case. 24 hours of direct clinical experience plus specialty clinic classes. See details here.

For seventeen years, from 1995 to 2013, I developed and refined a curriculum in Advanced and Clinical Herbalism, with more than 1100 hours of training, first at the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies, and since 2003 at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. I trained more than 230 clinical herbalists in those programs. The curriculum includes 8 months or more of working in a public clinic in Boulder, CO.  In 2012, I sold the classroom and clinical portions of the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. The curriculum is approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational Schools Board. The new school is now the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism. I remain on the faculty, and remain as a clinical mentor in the program, reviewing all cases in the student clinic and giving feedback.  If you would like to undergo the clinical training that I developed over those years, this is the place to do it. This program does not just have my fingerprints on it, it has my DNA in it, and you will still get my personal review and feedback on your cases in the clinic.
